TIPS & TRICKS
The best way to get through a mix is to be at a good output level, this allows
the harmonics to be heard in the mix. If you can supply a raw mix and a final mix,
we can take a listen and compare.
Don't over compress the main level, leave it
alive.
If the band sounds
to far away and you would like to bring the image closer and give it the coloration you like, use compression but don't go over a 4.1
ratio and try to stay between -12 dB to -4 dB, this leaves room to raise the mix to the appropriate level.
The best formats to bounce your mix down is analog tape and your hard drive with an AIFF or Wave file.
